In with the new, and hope for a better you and your future

I did’t make the connection to the issues of diet for almost 40 years. Whether it’s because of being stubborn or just ignorance. Media of today won’t give you the truth about issues. Traditional media is not doing it’s job. That’s prevalent because there are so many things wrong in our society. Where you get your information matters. If traditional media does it’s job then we won’t have many wrongs as we have in our society. And the so called alternative media is not cutting it because there are lot of lies, like green washing, an example. We could get on the alternative but we have to be vigilant about things all the time to get to the right path to be a better you. Better society relies on each individual to be well informed to make the right choices. Impact of a well informed individual makes up a well functional society as a whole. That’s why it’s ever so important to get on the right track, the alternative. We need this for the long run because it’s survival of our species and beyond. Ecosystems are collapsing as we speak. We must act. Or else we are guilty. Let’s all get on the alternative for a better environment on this planet. There is no planet B.

All I’m saying is that it took this long for me to seek the truth about life on this earth. So everyone is different, for some it may take long while others short. We have to be wanting the truth in every aspects of our life. When we seek truth, we are better informed. We become caretakers of this planet when we seek truth and live our lives in sync with nature. Nature will reward us. Tree planting is like an example of a good deed for this planet. On harvest, you will reap the benefits of labour when you plant. You could fill your basket with the fruits of your labour as the saying goes. Let’s promise to be better guardians of earth. That’s doesn’t mean being perfect but being true. Like the vegan lifestyle. Why don’t the planet go vegan and all the problems of our world will just vanish? It’s much more complicated than that. Even if us as humans do the right things, there are governments and corporations on the other side not taking the right path. Poverty is a good enough reason for not going vegan. It may just be an opinion but its an informed one. So many humans are doing the right things for our earth but yet we have this problem of biodiversity loss, corruption, environmental degradation, climate change, equitable access to services, racism, anarchism and poverty just to name a few. An act of going vegan is our moral responsibility when not affected by a bigger issues such as mentioned above. We also have less than 8 years until 2030 to avoid catastrophic climate change. I’m not saying going vegan will solve all issues but it’s a great start. Let’s get a running start to avoid disease and environmental degradation. Benefits of a plant fueled diet is doing wonders to prevent and even reverse diseases. Why not do a huge favour to ourselves and our mother earth! Peace!

Join the right revolt!

Join the right revolution! Be on the right side of history. A revolution, which takes into account climate change, abolishing poverty and is right for the biodiversity of this planet. Its all possible when we are rightly informed. There is so much misinformation. Thanks to the propaganda machines. Media doesn’t give you the stories needed for right decision making. Instead it promotes industries. Media promotes industries that are of most detrimental like, most polluting. An example is big agriculture(Big Ag). We don’t get the right information from the media about the wonders of a plant based lifestyle including diet. Instead, we get conflicting information, promotions and ideas about Big Ag products. We always have to fact check media. And it’s not easy to fact check at all times. We need to come out of this pandemic with a revolution which sticks. Because we don’t need second best or populous alternative. We need a true alternative that stands the test of time. Like just transition for all the workers in most polluting of industries. We need an authority which cares for the biodiversity of this planet. Be that be human or animal rights. Second choice won’t cut it like the Liberals or Conservatives in Canada. The third choice is a long shot, and it won’t do any good either. We need proportional representation in countries where there is none. That way we could work together for solutions to issues. We need universal basic income as an example to abolish poverty. We also need to act on the immediate threat of climate change. We all have a collective responsibility to act for our future generations. Together we could make history by being on the right side.

Planting

Planting trees to caption carbon out of the atmosphere is a priority. There is no other technology out there for that. It will become more urgent over time because of all the wildfires and human intervention on our forests. There was an ambitious plan by the Sikh communities initiative to plant 1 million trees in 2019. There is also a million tree initiative that is ongoing involving multiple cities. And the search engine Ecosia, which plants a tree for approximately 45 web searches. I’m sure there are lots more smaller initiatives to plant trees. We cannot rely on technology alone because we need to capture carbon out of the atmosphere. That’s the only way to solve the environmental crisis. We will have more control over our food when we grow our own. Also people who garden tend to live longer, and it’s nourishing to our bodies and good on the planet.

Our revolution!

Human nature versus our environment, inspiration by dinner conversation with family members. We are herbivores by birth but live in a society of omnivores. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. There is always claim by the media that we aren’t herbivores. Think of our ancestors. They hunted to fit into nature at that time. Nature required them to hunt animals. That is predator, prey relationship. Most of us are now omnivores by default, because of our society and the information, or lack thereof. Misinformation is what we have today in our environment. Media today won’t tell you the truth. You have to seek truth in our society. Education is defined by United Nations as culture passed on through generations. We are on course to write history. Victors write history. Do we need corporations writing our destiny? The choice is ours to take over our environment and this planet. Let’s make informed choices. And let’s revolt together. We are stronger together!

Green revolution!

What does it mean for me to be green? Am I not green already because of a plant fueled body? There are many things I could be doing but I’m not. Such as growing my own food. My reliance on transported food makes me not so green, because of the transportation fossil fuels dependency. What really is being green then? In our planet, top 20 percent of the wealthy populous uses 80 percent of our resources. Does being green as an individual matter because of the above sentence, and when could I start my revolt?

We need this revolt which is ongoing and alive to get out of our existential crisis. We don’t have two earths. You need to join the revolt. So you won’t be left out. Generations to come will thank us. Technology had not got us out of this mess. And won’t do it in the future, or now. We need to take collective actions which will then multiply. We need to feed our mind, body and soul. Good actions are therapeutic. It gives us a sense of satisfaction. Mostly, it turns out what’s good for you, is also good on the planet. Your activism matters because of the people in your life. You will inspire someone. Who in turn will inspire another being. That’s just how it goes. Before you know it, you will inspire a generation. Let’s work for the collective good to feed our mind, body and soul. When your approach is based on the above 3 principles, you will want to do good for yourself and other beings. Respecting all lives on earth. You will respect you as an entity because not everyone does, like corporations. Your body must be respected. So must be your mind and soul. Activists know all too well of the disrespect of our body by corporations and governments, alike. Fuel your body, fuel change. Let’s start our green some day. We don’t have to be perfect. Thanks for your time!

Journey to Self Discovery

Companies of today are looking to make sixfold profit, I read somewhere. Humans are mere numbers, not an entity for corporations. Our distinct existence is taken away by these multinationals. It’s time to take our world from these capitalists. We are deceived by sales tactics and marketing. It may seem as if we have no choice. But armed with knowledge we could join the revolution. Last time I checked, the revolt is ongoing. It’s totally fine to join the right bandwagon. You are in the right place. You could start anytime. Your goal should be to improve yourself. It’s self learning about how to be a better you time and time again. It’s time to take back what’s yours and love thyself. Everyone has the right to a healthy environment. We must fight for that right. Our knowledge on this planet, and issues will lead to healthy choices for especially self and society as a whole. Our future looks bright when we make the right choices for ourselves, and that reflects as the right choices for others as well, most of the time. That choice would be the right one for our natural world, mostly. Simply being a learner, you are on track to be an educator in the future. In the long run your impact will multiply, simply by the right choices. These choices could start with as simple as a diet (a plant fueled one). Then move on to lifestyle for self, for family and friends and finally for the society, and for our earth.

Electoral reform in Canada (and elsewhere where there is none).

Electoral reform is something Canadians talk of, but it doesn’t become a reality. Believe it or not, the first time a politician spoke of it is in 1921. It’s been hundred years and has not been adopted. Our current prime minister spoke of bringing it for the election in 2019. That didn’t materialize like all the other times. We need electoral reform badly in Canada because of bad governance. Most of the countries in organisation for economic co-operation and development(OECD) have proportional representation. Those countries have better governance, than ones with first past the post voting system.

There need to be citizens assembly on proportional representation federally. Which could lead to conversation about poverty reduction through universal basic income, universal pharma care and universal child care. These must be adopted. Alternative therapies proven by science must also be adopted and paid for by the federal government. Basic needs such as food, clothing and housing must be adopted as a basic human right, which is enshrined in our constitution. Education must be funded by the federal government at all levels. This is all possible by taxing corporations for their fair share. There was an article on the Toronto Star while back that stated there is 104 billion dollars deficit because of corporate tax rate reduction from the 1960’s to now. Its all possible when it’s fixed. We are doomed if this is not done. Climate change and our diet, our environment and our lifestyle are killing us. On the climate change front, governments must act on the emergency in an urgent manner to preserve biodiversity loss. Renewable energy must be given priority, not nuclear. There must be tree planting programs to capture carbon from the atmosphere. Small scale regenerative agriculture must be promoted by the government. Rather than destructive big agriculture (Big Ag) we have. Big Ag is definitely not a solution because it has proven that, time and time again. There must be indigenous and affected peoples solidarity when dealing with such issues. I’m sure where this is going. So there is more to be added to the list. Basic needs are important!

Now what? COP26 anyone (Joke us not)

We know all too well that governments won’t act. We keep on believing them. Most governments are run by lobbyists.  We all have a collective responsibility to switch to a plant based diet, if possible organic to fight climate change. If you live in the developed world. We are creatures of habit as someone put it. It’s a moral crime not to act. If we are impoverished then you have an excuse not to switch your diet. Poverty is good enough reason for not switching our diet to a plant fueled one. 25% of emissions are from big agriculture. I’m not saying we must not go after corporations. We also have an individual responsibility to act in times of crisis.

Our connection to natural disasters

The wildfires raged in Lytton, British Columbia this summer. The damage may not have been prevented, but could have been managed better with an emergency response system in place. Because the temperature trends were happenings from 2014 to 2018, according to Canadian Broadcasting Corporation(CBC) article. All levels of governments could have seen the emergency coming, if they had listen to the reports. There is a lot of finger pointing going on. Let Lytton, BC be a lesson to all of us on this planet, from all the sorrow aside. We may blame fossil fuels for this tragedy. But those of us who are informed, are equally to blame, because of the destruction caused by our destructive actions. When we are informed then we are able to choose wisely, but we are still making mistakes by not learning lessons from the past. There is only one planet and we act as if there are multiple. Therefore be informed and choose wisely to make the connection to human lifestyle. Whole foods plant fueled diet, if possible organic is known to do wonders for our bodies and it’s nice on the planet as well. Why not make the switch to a plant fueled lifestyle?

Miscellaneous or not, make the connection to our dietary issues on earth

There is a 104 billion short fall from the 1960’s to now on taxes collected, according to a The Star article while back. Because of not taxing corporations effectively. As you may have figured out, it could be used for the reduction of poverty and any other major issue, you name it, we could fix in Canada.

Also, most cities around the world are police states as well. The police have enormous amount of power, that they tend to misuse. Upholding the interest of the wealthy few or elites, as they are known. It’s true of the whole justice system. In Canada, indigenous peoples make up 4% of the population, but 25% of the incarcerated populace. It was evident in the recent eviction of homeless peoples in Toronto. Just like the time where there was the G8 and G20 summits. This is just an example of many around the world.

All those who have blood on their hands, taking the lives of the innocent. Whether it be land defenders, environmentalists, activists and everyone fighting for the rights of humans, animals and our environment. Full-blown activism is dangerous because you could be murdered. A stark truth which is evident in lot of cases. Be wary of justice system everywhere on this earth. Revolution is on.
